Facilitation and Consultancy
I work with teams and organisations to explore questions of purpose, values, culture and change. Through facilitated workshops, leadership retreats and research-informed consultancy.
I bring careful enquiry, thoughtful dialogue and informed challenge to the issues you face. Each engagement is shaped around your context, helping you develop a clearer understanding of what matters and agree purposeful next steps.
Workshops and Retreats
Values at Work
What really shapes culture, behaviour and decision-making
About the workshop
Many organisations describe themselves as values-led, often through mission statements, strategic commitments or statements of ethos. Yet the real values of an organisation usually become visible elsewhere: in everyday decisions, in who is promoted, how conflict is handled, what risks are taken, what behaviours are tolerated, and whose voices are heard.
Values are not an add-on to organisational life. They form part of the underlying system that shapes behaviour, culture and decision-making, whether they are named explicitly or not.
This workshop explores how values can be identified, defined and given meaningful traction within organisations. It examines the relationship between the values an organisation declares and the values that operate in practice, sometimes with unintended or harmful consequences.
The workshop will also consider how moral standpoints, religious traditions and wider worldviews shape organisational life, and how organisations might engage these dimensions thoughtfully and constructively.
Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on the values operating within their own organisations, and to consider how greater clarity and coherence might be developed between stated commitments and lived practice.

Workshops and retreats are carefully curated time together, facilitated by Stephen Parker. He creates space for people and groups to step back from the usual pace of organisational life and think carefully about a particular issue, question or season of change.
Workshops and retreats are reflective, structured and focused on personal and organisational flourishing. Usually held in beautiful surroundings, and shaped with wider wellbeing in mind, each one is designed around the needs, context and purpose of the group.
My aim is to create the conditions for clearer thinking, deeper conversation and wiser action.
Time to Think Carefully Together
Leaders’ and Team Retreats
About the retreat
Noesis offers bespoke half-day and full-day retreats for small groups of leaders and leadership teams.
These retreats create space for those carrying significant responsibility to step back from ordinary demands and think differently for a while. They are designed for teams who need time to reflect on values, mission, purpose, direction or the quality of their shared life and work.
Each retreat is shaped around the needs and context of the group. A typical retreat may include carefully chosen inputs and provocations, time for individual and shared reflection, conversation around values and purpose, and creative, active, artistic or literary forms of expression.
Where appropriate, retreats may close with a simple inclusive ritual, allowing the group to mark what has been noticed, clarified or shifted before returning to everyday responsibilities.
Alongside open retreats offered during the year, organisations may commission a retreat for their own leadership team, creating space for the kind of thoughtful, unhurried consideration that day-to-day operational pressure rarely allows.

Consultancy
Good organisations are not simply efficient, they are places where people develop and flourish whilst navigating complexity with integrity, remaining faithful to their purpose while responding to change.
Periods of growth, uncertainty or transition often raise questions that cannot be answered internally within the organisation. They require the facilitation of careful thought, honest conversations and patiently drawn out insight.
I offer consultancy that creates space for this kind of thinking. We work alongside organisations as a thought partner, bringing together leadership experience, academic research and a deep understanding of how people, culture and purpose shape organisational life.
This work is collaborative and co-creative, rather than prescriptive. I listen carefully, ask searching questions, offer informed challenge and help organisations gain greater clarity about who they are, what matters most and how they wish to move forward.
Consultancy may include:
Strategic reflection and organisational review.
Leadership and governance development.
Facilitation of leadership away days and strategic conversations.
Organisational culture, ethos and values reviews.
Support through organisational change, growth and restructuring.
Research-informed advice on education, leadership, religion and organisational culture.
Designing reflective learning and development for leadership teams.
Keynote speaking and workshops on leadership, flourishing, organisational identity and change.
Every organisation is unique. Rather than offering standard consultancy packages, I begin with a conversation, seeking first to understand your context before designing support that reflects your priorities, aspirations and challenges.
The purpose is not simply to solve problems, but to help organisations think well, act wisely and flourish over the long term.
